Bespoke MOTIS Shelter With Photovoltaic Glass

Commissioned by Canary Wharf Group I was the design engineer responsible for the design and development of the shelter. Working in conjunction with Polysolar and positioned near their offices in Canary Wharf the Motis shelter was adapted to incorporate the photovoltaic glass. The shelter was designed to be self-sufficient and supply additional energy to the grid. Capable of generating more than 2000kW hours per year, enough electricity to power an average London home. With careful integration and utilisation of extrusions and the existing infrastructure the aesthetical design was maintained, and the photovoltaic glass was successfully incorporated. A flagship product in a highly prestigious location demonstrating the feasibility of incorporating new technologies and how products could pay for themselves.
